while surfing in Costa Rica, Kalani David 24 passed away.

The 24-year-old, who had a condition called Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome, passed away after a seizure in the water.

Wolff-Parkinson-White (WPW) syndrome

Flight Path

“is a condition in which there is an extra electrical pathway in the heart that leads to periods of rapid heart rate (tachycardia).”

He was already regarded as one of the world's top skateboarders when he was only 14 years old. He was a skilled surfer who could compete with the best in the water.

His condition worsened after that, and just before Christmas of the same year, he suffered a six-hour seizure that nearly took his life while at home on Oahu.

But he filled it with things he loved.

Kalani’s life was too short

Flight Path

He surfed and skated hard and had a wide and loving group of friends and family.

Rest In Peace, Kalani.
